My son, Jacob, and I took the kids on a hike to the Wind Caves today.

The Greatest Show on Earth…

Linda and I took the grandkids to the circus in Phoenix tonight. Much better than I remember it from years past.
Great acts. It kept moving. Every act made me nervous — except for the clowns. Come to think of it, it’s much like the legislature.

A sad and joyous day…

My son, Jordan, completed his first year of residency (known as "the Intern" year) last Friday.
This morning, he left for Boston, where he’ll complete 3 more years of residency in anesthesiology, then perhaps a year of fellowship.
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed having him and his family with us over this last year. We will truly miss them all. Katie and the kids leave in a month.
(If you’ll permit me to gloat, Jordan received an award as the outstanding anesthesiology student when he graduated from John Hopkins Med School last May. But more importantly, he’s just a very good person.)
